Dear Families of PS2Q,

 

It is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to the new school year!

 

My name is Sandra Cevallos and I am your Parent Coordinator. I am here

to try and make this academic school year as smooth as possible for you

and your family. My role as your Parent Coordinator is to be the liaison

between you and the school, and provide you with information from our

district offices.

 

This coming year I will host a bunch of workshops to help you along this

school year journey. Topics range from anxiety, nutrition, and how to

navigate the NYC DOE sites. I also host a big workshop on the city’s

free college saving plan called Kid’s Rise.

Dear PS2Q Families,

 

I’m reaching out to let you know that, as an NYC public school student in an eligible grade, your children have been automatically enrolled in the Save for College Program, a college and career scholarship and savings program. The next step is for you, as the parent or guardian, to activate your child’s NYC Scholarship Account and see the funds that have been allocated for their educational future.

Their NYC Scholarship Account has an initial allocation of $100, and you can receive an additional $25 reward for activating and viewing their account. We are reaching out to all participating families at PS2Q because we want to make sure every family at our school is taking advantage of this opportunity! To activate and view your child’s NYC Scholarship Account, follow the steps below. You can also refer to this step-by-step guide, as well as this demo video. Once you activate your child’s account, you can log in regularly and monitor the funds and earnings. Join the families at your school who are already saving for college and career training together by taking this important step!

Building Block 1 - To Activate and View your child’s NYC Scholarship Account:

    1. Go to nyckidsrise.org/activate

    2. After reading the Welcome statement, scroll down and click Activate Account.

    3. A small box will appear. Click Continue to open Savings Tracker.

    4. You will then see a Registration box. Enter your child's home ZIP code, date of birth, and nine-digit Student ID Number (OSIS Number), then click Submit.

    5. Enter your name and email address, and create a password.

    6. Read and accept the Terms of Use, then click Create User Profile. 

    7. Once that's complete, fill out the Introductory Survey.

    8. Make sure to complete the Introductory Survey by hitting Submit to earn the first $25 reward, which will be allocated to your child's NYC Scholarship Account within about a week.

After you finish activating the account, you can choose to open your own college and career savings account as a next step (also known as Building Block 2), so that you can save alongside the NYC Scholarship Account. Me comunico con usted para informarle que, como estudiante de una escuela pública de la ciudad de Nueva York en un grado elegible su hijo/a fueron inscrito/a automáticamente en el Programa de Ahorro para la Universidad (Save for College Program), un programa de becas y ahorros para la universidad y la formación profesional. El próximo paso es que usted, como padre/madre o tutor, active la Cuenta de Beca NYC (NYC Scholarship Account) de su hijo y vea los fondos que se le han asignado para su futuro educativo.

La Cuenta de Beca NYC tiene una asignación de $100 iniciales, y usted puede recibir una recompensa de $25 adicionales por activar y ver la cuenta. Nos estamos comunicando con todas las familias participantes en PS2Q porque queremos asegurarnos de que todas las familias en nuestra escuela aprovechen esta oportunidad. Pilar Principal 1: Para activar y ver la Cuenta de Beca NYC de su hijo siga estos pasos:

  1. Vaya a nyckidsrise.org/activate.

  2. Después de leer el enunciado de bienvenida, desplácese hacia abajo y haga clic en Activar la cuenta.

  3. Aparecerá una casilla pequeña. Haga clic en Continuar para abrir Herramienta de control de ahorro.

  4. Verá una casilla de registro. Ingrese el código postal de la vivienda de su hijo, la fecha de nacimiento de su hijo y el número de identificación de estudiante de nueve dígitos (número OSIS), y luego haga clic en Enviar.

  5. Ingrese su nombre y dirección de correo electrónico, y cree una clave.

  6. Lea y acepte los Términos de uso y luego haga clic en Crear perfil de usuario. 

  7. Cuando lo haya hecho, complete la Encuesta Inicial. 

  8. Asegúrese de completar la Encuesta Inicial y hacer clic en Enviar para obtener la primera recompensa de $25, que se asignará a la Cuenta de Beca NYC de su hijo en aproximadamente una semana.

Después de activar la cuenta, tiene la opción de abrir su propia cuenta de ahorros para la formación universitaria y profesional como próximo paso (también llamado Pilar Principal 2), para poder ahorrar junto a su Cuenta de Beca NYC.
