Celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by learning, creating, and volunteering as a family! Recommended for families with kids ages six and up. Learn about MLK’s relationship to climate justice with Ki Gross from Woke Kindergarten. Design and build a model of a structure to improve your community. Take action by packaging hygiene kits for unhoused neighbors with Repair the World. Kits will be donated to Broadway Community Inc. Admission is free with advance registration. Register here.

Have you ever wondered how an artist’s work gets out into the world without them making each piece by hand? In this workshop with Secret Riso Club, participants will experiment with making copies of their own artwork and working with others to interpret their vision. You’ll get hands-on printmaking experience, then learn how printer and publisher Jacob Samuel worked with other artists to interpret their work to print. This program will take place in the Cullman Education and Research Building, following a short guided visit to the exhibition New Ground: Jacob Samuel and Contemporary Etching.
The Heyman Family Art Lab  Daily, 11:00 a.m.5:00 p.m.In this drop-in space, kids and adults can play with line and light, draw to music, create a shape design, and more. All ages are welcome. Free with museum admission.

Studio in the Community: Creatively Queens now on view at the Central Library in Jamaica. 
 
In honor of this exhibition, Studio in a School NYC is offering a FREE family art workshop on Saturday, November 4th from 1-3pm at the library.

Students can download TeachHub, Families can download NYCSA Mobile Apps

Please review the following information on the NYCSA and TeachHub mobile applications, both available beginning on October 17:

 

NYCSA Mobile Application: Parents/guardians who have an active NYCSA account can access their child’s grades, assignments, and attendance using the NYCSA mobile application that can be downloaded on iOS and Android devices (links are for the NYCSA application).

 

TeachHub Mobile Application: Students can now use the TeachHub mobile application, an easy, quick way for them to track their grades, assignments, schedule, and attendance information, which can be downloaded on iOS (will be available by COB on October 17) and Android devices (links are for the TeachHub application); students must sign into the application with their NYCStudents.net username and password.

 

Please share the information with students and families via the TeachHub mobile app information page and the NYCSA mobile app information page on the NYCPS website, which also provides instructions for how to use the new applications.
