📌 Virtual PTA Meeting – Wednesday, March 25 at 6:30pm
We invite you to join our upcoming virtual PTA meeting. This is a great opportunity to stay informed, hear school updates, and learn about ways to stay involved in supporting our students and community.

📘 ENL Parent Workshop – Tuesday, March 24
Families of students receiving ENL services are encouraged to join us for this helpful workshop.

The workshop will explain the NYSESLAT exam, how results are used, and ways to support your child at home.

✏️ Testing Workshop for Grades 3–5 – Wednesday, March 25
Join us for an informational session about the New York State ELA and Math exams for grades 3–5.

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day, and students are encouraged to wear green to celebrate!

The 5th Grade Graduation Committee will be hosting a Snack Sale tomorrow, March 17, during all lunch periods. All snacks will be $1.00, and every purchase helps support our 5th graders’ graduation celebration. See attached flyers for more details.

On Thursday, March 19, we will celebrate Spirit Day—students are invited to wear spring colors as we welcome spring. See attached flyers for more details.

Our Dog Toy Drive is still happening, and the last day to donate is Thursday, March 19. We are collecting new dog toys and pillowcases to support the ASPCA. This is a simple and meaningful way for students to spread kindness. See attached flyers for more details.

Please remember:There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, March 20, in observance of Eid al‑Fitr.

And don’t forget to complete your NYC School Surveys — we need your voice! Every completed survey gives our students a chance to win amazing prizes, so let’s help our BEARS shine and get those surveys in! Check the attached flyers for details and a QR code for quick, easy access.

Don’t forget, tomorrow is the Scholastic PTA Book Fair Family Shopping Day! Join us on Thursday, March 12th from 2:30–5:30 PM in Room 345 to browse books together and support our wonderful PTA.
If you need help with your child’s NYC Scholarship Account, we will also be available tomorrow from 3:00–4:00 PM in the school lobby. We are happy to assist you and answer any questions.
We are also excited to share that the District 30 Spring Book Club begins this Thursday! D30 Spring book selection is My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George, a classic adventure that readers of all ages can enjoy.

Classes will be visiting the Book Fair throughout the week to browse and purchase books. Families are also welcome to visit the Book Fair this Thursday from 2:30 to 5:30 PM.

👕 Spirit Wear Pickup on Thursday
If you recently ordered spirit wear, it will be available for pickup this Thursday during the Book Fair family hours (Thursday from 2:30 to 5:30 PM).

💳 Kids Rise Enrollment Table on Thursday
A Kids Rise table will be available on Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM for families who would like to sign their child up. Flyers were sent home with additional information.

🎶 Hip Hop Family Fun Activity
Get ready to move and groove! Families are invited to join us for a Hip Hop Family Fun session led by Notes in Motion instructor Dan.

Location: Gym (Enter through the Kindergarten door on 76th St.)

⏰ Half Day – Thursday, March 5
Students will be dismissed at 11:00 AM for Parent–Teacher Conferences. We encourage all families to schedule a virtual meeting with their child’s teacher. Please note: There will be no HANAC after-school program on this day.

☀️ Summer Rising 2026

🧾 Immigration Legal Services
Free consultations and assistance for citizenship, green card renewals, DACA, family petitions, FOIA, and more. Support is also available for recently arrived immigrants, including asylum, work permits, TPS, and immigration court guidance. Families can join the waitlist through the legal referral form.
